Online Football Scoreboard

In American football a touchdown is worth 6 points, a field goal 3, a safety 2, and the try after a touchdown adds 1 point for a kick or 2 for a conversion. ScoreBoard's free online football scoreboard has +6, +3, +2 and +1 buttons per team, so any scoring play is a single tap.

How to keep score for football online

  1. Open the football scoreboard. The Football preset is already selected.
  2. Name the teams or players (2 to 12) and pick their colors, then tap Create Game.
  3. Tap a team’s card or its point buttons to add points. On a keyboard, press 1, 2 or 3 to score for that team and Shift + the number to undo.
  4. Open the gear menu for fullscreen and XL score size, or tap Share to get a 6-character code others can join at thescorekeeper.app/app/join.
  • Enter the touchdown and the try as two taps so the score is right even if the kick misses.
  • Turn on the game timer to run each 15-minute quarter.
  • Flag football leagues often use different values; Custom Points lets you set your own.

Football scoreboard FAQ

How many points is a touchdown?

A touchdown is worth 6 points. The scoring team then attempts a try: a kick through the uprights for 1 point or a run or pass into the end zone for 2 points.

How many points is a field goal and a safety?

A field goal is worth 3 points. A safety, when the offense is tackled in its own end zone, is worth 2 points to the defense, and the team that gave up the safety then kicks off.

Can I use this scoreboard for flag football?

Yes. Many flag football leagues use 6 for a touchdown and 1 or 2 for extra points from different distances. If your league's values differ, pick the Custom Points preset.
